Author Biography

I grew up reading. I was the kid in class that secretly read the next three chapters instead of the one assigned to us. I credit my dad, because he had me reading comic books at an early age. The characters, storylines, and worlds… they transported you into a realm of superpowers and adventure. In a way, that is who I am. A person that loves the unimaginable. Someone who wants to share stories of heroism, love, and adversity to the world. I want to give that feeling, that escapism, to everyone.

Zanthia: Adonai’s War is a fantasy by Nicklous P. Adams II. The two heroes, Micah and Tristan, having vanquished evil, now live a simple and peaceful life. To quell their boredom, the pair decides to investigate the rumors of a human settlement in a faraway land. Meanwhile, a powerful foe called Asua, commonly known as the “Adversary,” is plotting to destroy all life in the seventh realm (our plane of existence or, put simply, Earth). To achieve his goal, he acquires a pawn named Caleb, a skilled swordsman who has given him immense power. Micah and Tristan are called to arms by Michael, a bellator (angel) that is the leader of Adonai, the creator’s forces. They are sent to ready all the kingdoms’ armies for the great war to come. Will the forces of evil be purged from the lands? Can the Adversary be slain?

There are many books out there. Some are bad, and some are great, but sorting through them all to separate the wheat from the chaff would be impossible in one’s lifetime. So for one to come upon a great book, it is thanks to luck, positive reviews (such as this one), recommendations, etc. I, for one, was able to get my paws on this excellent story. While reading Zanthia: Adonai’s War, I realized that quite some time had passed since I last read a truly great fantasy book. Nicklous P. Adams II really set the bar high here, and I’m sure it will be a long wait for me to come across such a gem in the fantasy genre. Unless, of course, the author writes a sequel. Everything about this book was perfect. The plot couldn’t have been better, the characters couldn’t have been better written, and the same can be said for each aspect of this book. The action scenes for me were the best I have ever read. Each battle was beautifully choreographed and even more entertaining to envision than watching a Hollywood blockbuster. Both the small-scale skirmishes between a bellator and Krazul (a race of beings larger and stronger than humans) along with the massive battles were all a joy to read. In conclusion, I can say without a doubt that lovers of the fantasy genre and newcomers will definitely enjoy reading this book.

In Zanthia: Adonai's War (Book 3) by Nicklous Adams II, the fight against evil continues, and this time, it is going to be "the largest battle in the history of the world." Micah would have to face not one but two formidable enemies who are working together: The Adversary and Caleb. Caleb, who is more powerful than ever, is bent on revenge, bringing a large army with him. Caught between exacting revenge and fighting for love, Caleb charges his opponents with his newfound power. Micah must protect his family and all the innocent people that might suffer from Caleb's destructive rage. For such a great obstacle, a great price must be paid. Is Micah ready to do what it takes to save all life forms on earth?

Nicklous Adams II has written an impressively creative book, action-packed, profound, greatly engrossing, and emotionally moving. The beautiful worldbuilding and all the fantastical creatures and elements are so much fun to explore. I was completely captivated by the idea that Micah has a powerful creature inside him that could be harnessed by or destructive to its host. Also, I liked that the antagonist is made quite formidable and intimidating and described as fast and precise with his strikes. The well-described action is intense and would be great in a movie. Readers will be hooked in by the interesting mix of themes: coexistence, war, politics, vengeance, unrequited love, magic, loss, family, resilience, and more. If the other books in the series are this amazing, it would be a sin to miss them as a fantasy fan. I can't wait to find out!

Zanthia: Adonai's War is the third and final installment of the Adonai's Prophecy trilogy by Nicklous Adams II. After saving the world from the tyranny of Nero and subduing his inner demon, Azrael, Micah must face the greatest threat the world has ever seen: the Adversary Asua. Seeking to tap into Adonai's power, Asua recruits Caleb, Micah's old nemesis, and uses him to build a powerful army of Dakhlai, Krazul, and Syrithians. Meanwhile, taking advantage of Micah's and Tristan's absence, Caleb attacks Akyri and attempts to kidnap her. But his failure only infuriates him further, leading him to become more powerful than ever. As the Bellator, Michael trains Micah to channel Azrael's powers, Tristan, Akyri, and Saphyre must unite the forces of Zanthia, Levithia, and Wynsoria for one last stand against the Adversary's evil army.

Zanthia: Adonai's War is as epic as epic fantasy gets. Fans of books like The Lord of the Rings should rejoice. Nicklous Adams II's Adonai's Prophecy trilogy provides you with yet another sprawling world with a plethora of magical creatures to delve into. The characters are fleshed out, with backstories that add a lot of depth to their personalities. You can't help but root for Micah, Tristan, Akyri, and Saphyre as they prepare for battle. I also enjoyed the minor characters such as Dacan, Tomas, and Kyra. The battle scenes are cinematically described and so clear that you can picture them in your mind. Check out Adonai's Prophecy if you're looking for an epic fantasy series with grand battle sequences.

The hero Mica is back in Zanthia: Adonai’s War, the third book in Adonai’s Prophecy Series by Nicklous Adams II. The Adversary doesn’t show signs of slowing down when it comes to plotting an evil scheme to destroy Micah and everything he holds dear. And this time, Micah also faces an old rival. Caleb has his reasons to hold a deep-seated hatred against him that stems from jealousy and insecurity: Micah defeated Nero, the greatest evil that Caleb had trained all his life to vanquish. Micah also stole Akyri from him—the love of his life. All his great plans came crashing down at the arrival of Micah and have set him on a path of uncertainty. And as the Adversary once tempted Nero with the idea of power and glory, he now offers the same temptation to Caleb. The latter will do anything to defeat Micah. This newly-forged alliance may well tip the scales in their favor and throw our hero into facing something insurmountable.

Zanthia: Adonai’s War has a storyline that shines in its wealth of details. The world that Nicklous Adams II has built has such a compelling atmosphere that you can almost feel the Adversary lurking behind you as you read. Micah once again will be cast into tumultuous adventures from the machinations of two highly formidable adversaries. As an antagonist, Caleb makes for a brilliant foil against Micah. Everything that he represents shows a prominent contrast that makes Micah’s virtues shine. At the same time, it also drifts into internal focus when examining its characters’ emotional struggles. Micah, for one, struggles with his own internal conflicts as a rightful ruler who chooses not to rule. Hard-edged yet graceful, Zanthia: Adonai’s War is a must-read if you are into high fantasy.

Zanthia: Adonai’s War is a work of fiction in the fantasy and adventure subgenres and was penned by author Nicklous Adams II. Written as the third novel in the Adonai’s Prophecy series, this work best suits the young adult reading audience, but older readers will also find plenty of high-quality fantasy fun to sink their teeth into. In this continuation after the events of The Shadowed Army, we find protagonist Micah facing up to the dark realities that befall the lands around him. With old enemies resurfacing and war brewing on the horizon, Micah must face off against the rage swelling within him and hope that it doesn’t consume him before he can act to save all that he holds dear.

Author Nicklous Adams II writes with emotion and a cinematic eye for detail in this thrilling third installment of the Adonai’s Prophecy series. A particular feature of the work that really impressed me was the layout and pacing of the conflict scenes, which were very exciting and genuinely felt epic in their scale and high-stakes danger levels. The kind of realistic presentation of danger that can get your blood pumping in a book is a true gift, and Adams is a master of this craft. I also enjoyed Micah immensely as a protagonist, so relatable but with so much weight to carry on his young shoulders. Overall, I would highly recommend Zanthia: Adonai’s War to fans of the existing series, and I’d certainly recommend the series in general to fantasy fans seeking exciting and immersive worldbuilding, a likable and fully-rounded protagonist, and all-out action which totally satisfies.
