Zion's Super Question Day: Why? written by Aliya Yancey and illustrated by Fitrandhita follows the learning adventure of a typical and curious child named Zion. His mom has devised a way of letting him satisfy his inquisitiveness by having a jar filled with sticks that have Wh questions on them. Zion would randomly choose one and use that super question to ask anything his inquiring mind wanted to know. On this particular day, he was able to pick his favorite Wh question - Why? Zion uses the opportunity during his school lesson time, first asking his teacher and then a classmate. At recess time he asks his friend, and finally his mom at bedtime as he drifts off to sleep and dreams about the next Wh question from the jar that he will be using tomorrow. The book also features language teaching techniques to help young readers ask and answer questions, along with some useful guidelines for teachers and caregivers that explain how to use them.

Zion's Super Question Day: Why? by Aliya Yancey is written in a conversational tone so the situation is relatable to both kids and adults. It also pays attention to children's natural curiosity and their silly and wild imaginations. Young children are naturally curious and innocent at this stage and a comfortable environment can make them ask any question they can think of, whether appropriate or not. Grown-ups can mistake this for rudeness or weirdness or maybe sometimes dismiss the child when they simply don't know the answer. Children make mistakes, but no matter how intrusive their questions sometimes sound, the author demonstrates that it's their genuine curiosity, fascination, and drive to learn that dominates this behavior. The colorful illustrations complement the text, using varied scenarios and backgrounds to support the multicultural and diverse portrayal of the characters. This tells us that being inquisitive knows no gender, age, or belief, and this certainly makes the subject matter more appealing. Not only is it a highly recommended read-along book for early readers, but it is also a valuable reference for teachers because of its how-to guide. It will be a gem to have in a children's library.
