The Tinfoil Girl is a fable written by Olivia Miller. It's the story of a girl who's modeled out of tin foil, and the adventures she has when she's whisked away from her home by a gust of wind. Being made of tin, she's impervious to heat and can explore the insides of a bubbling pot on a stove. She travels deep into the earth and sees the outdoors and nature clutched in the beak of a passing hawk. Throughout it all, she's not worried as she realizes her creator can sort things out if they become too impossible -- though being stuck in a nest with hatching baby hawks may be a bit of a challenge, even for Tinfoil Girl.

Olivia Miller's Tinfoil Girl is a clever and beautiful fantasy story that is simple and deep at the same time. The stories of fantasist George MacDonald came to mind as Tinfoil Girl is whirled around and falls through the earth in one fantastic adventure after another. The illustrations are as impressive as the ideas and images evoked by the words in this story and were based on actual tinfoil models crafted by Tinfoil Girl's creator, Olivia Miller. I read this book without being aware of the author's age. I'm not sure if I could have been any more impressed by the author's book than I was without that knowledge. It does make me somewhat intrigued and excited about what new visions and vistas readers might get to explore from this new and gifted talent. The Tinfoil Girl is a very special book and an absolute treat to read.
