Salvation by Alyssa Cooper is about Alec and Maya, falling in love, and how life doesn't always go how one wants it to go. Alec narrates the first part and he tells of meeting Maya and how he falls in love with her. In time, he learns that she's a vampire, but that doesn't stop him from loving her. Alex tells of how she helps him heal after the death of his parents. Maya narrates the second part and tells of her past before she was turned and some of after she was turned until violence forces her to leave her maker and the man she loves. Maya mostly narrates the third part of Salvation, but Alec helps and they tell of how they can survive and how they've healed. Maya leaves in the hopes of finding answers and Alec finally has hope for the future he never thought he'd have.

Salvation by Alyssa Cooper is well written and beautifully descriptive. Sweet and tender, with moments of violence, makes it a really good book. Alyssa Cooper weaves a sweet romance story that has a little mystery woven through it. Salvation is just about love and finding it; it's about healing and gives a very realistic path to healing that most wouldn't see unless they've lived through it. It shows that even when you think you have no hope left that there is hope and that it can come from the most unsuspecting place. I thoroughly enjoyed Salvation even though I was deeply disappointed with the ending, but thankful that it didn't follow the 'happily ever after' either.
