Mac is a news reporter looking to work on his book about the upcoming election and the potential candidates for it. But when he stumbles across something strange in the results of past elections, he knows he has to do something. Helen, Mac and others are looking for reasons behind the election results because for some reason the new Congress is entirely different from what was expected. Now Mac is trying to cover the new Presidential election and discover what may have happened to some of the old Congressional candidates. But someone doesn’t want him to know and they’ll stop at nothing to make sure he never finds out. It’s all going to come down to the detective skills of a news reporter and a media relations expert to determine what’s behind the fixed elections and whether it’s going to continue in Death of Democracy.
This story is one that jumps right into the action and really gets you into what’s happening. Mac is a hero in many senses of the word and he’s determined to do what’s right and keep investigating, even though it may cost him more than he knows. That definitely makes him the type of character that any reader can’t seem to get enough of. The idea of discord in the government and some type of conspiracy behind the elections is realistic enough to keep the reader interested and coming back for more. Marjorie and Helen are characters that will attract female readers because they are not only easy to relate to, but people we all wish we could be. Death of Democracy by Barrie Edward will draw you in and keep you guessing.
