Country Love is a contemporary romance by Chelsea Dorsette. Paden Thomas is working as a radio announcer in Nashville when she’s asked to interview the lead singer of a hot new country band. So she does what any reputable interviewer would do; she researches her subject, The Café Cowboys. CJ is the lead singer of The Café Cowboys and the band is finally starting to get some recognition in the world of country music. What Paden and CJ couldn’t anticipate is how this chance meeting would change both of their lives. The chemistry between them is undeniable and from the moment he invites her to one of his shows after the interview, they are in each other’s pockets. Unfortunately, CJ and Paden have both attracted the attention of a few unstable people intent on doing them harm. Chelsea Dorsette does a great job of making this short story feel a lot longer. So much happens in just a few pages, making this story pretty exciting.
I like that Chelsea Dorsette doesn’t beat around the bush and make us guess who’s causing trouble. We know who they are pretty early on so it’s just a matter of seeing how it all played out. That made Country Love a light and stress-free read. It was nice to see a couple just click and enjoy the first days of a new relationship. The flirting, the sex, and the growing affection kicked this romance up a notch in my opinion. I thought Paden jumped to conclusions at times without allowing CJ to explain, and that there were more legitimate conclusions she could have come to in order to make her case. This was a quick yet enjoyable country romance.
