Aaliyah P. Visits Santa (The Little Adventures of Aaliyah P.) (Volume 2) by Lucinda Weeks is the second in the series of Aaliyah and her adventures. In this book, readers get to see Aaliyah visiting Santa. Aaliyah has one wish - to visit Santa before Christmas Eve. She goes with her aunt Summer to a mall to see Santa, but when they get to the mall there are signs everywhere saying 'Big Sale.' Aaliyah knows what will happen as everything is selling cheap. Aunt Summer wants to shop and Aaliyah is worried if she will get to meet Santa. Aunt Summer is hopping from one shop to another, excited with the sale prices of the items.
It's a perfect story for the season and captures the essence of Christmas shopping and meeting Santa Claus beautifully. The illustrations are delightful and they complement the author's words effectively. The excitement and fun surrounding the season are tangible. It's a good bedtime storybook and can also be used for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries; especially during the Christmas season. Aaliyah's character is adorable and children will connect well with her eagerness to meet Santa Claus.
