Barclay: Bachelors and Babies Book #4 by Charlene Raddon is a western romance that takes place in Montana in 1889. Barclay is the oldest of three bachelor brothers who own a cattle and horse ranch. When a woman comes to the ranch during a storm, the brothers take her in, realizing that she is about to give birth. To their surprise the woman has triplets. Having been kidnapped, raped, and abused, she does not want her babies and leaves during the night. The doctor who attended to the babies knows of a young widow named Cynara, whose own baby died. Cynara comes to the ranch and cares for and feeds the babies. In the meantime, the ranch seems to be losing cattle to rustlers. Barclay is recovering from a gunshot wound when Cynara and the babies are kidnapped.
My favorite part of Barclay: Bachelors and Babies Book #4 by Charlene Raddon was watching the bachelor ranchers delivering the babies. It was touching how the brothers immediately fell in love with the babies, each brother choosing a name for their favorite baby. I liked how the brothers respected each other. I appreciated that the brothers were kind to animals, from their horses down to the kittens in the barn. I enjoyed that the ranch hands were loyal to the brothers and entranced with the babies. I loved that Cynara was able to love and care for the babies, while still grieving the loss of her husband and her own baby. Fans of historical romance and westerns will enjoy this book.
