Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel: A "Tail" of Love, Friendship, and Dog Adoption by Lara Eurdolian King is an absolutely lovely “tail” of love between people and their pets. It is original as the pet to be adopted, Charlie, our protagonist, is showing hotel guests around and hoping to find his forever family. He has a lot of friends, who are all different types of animals. What is also interesting is that this book is based on a true story and Charlie does exist. It is based on Charlie King, a senior Pomeranian rescued from the lobby of a hotel through their pet adoption program. On most pages, we read sayings such as “Welcome!” and “Adopt me!” and “Home.” These relate to the main message of this book: everyone needs to feel welcome and needs a home, both human beings and animals.

In Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel by Lara Eurdolian King, Charlie is an adorable and kind-hearted Pomeranian who helps people. Indeed, he enjoys introducing them to everyone at the hotel. This tale is one of support, generosity, friendship, and above all differences. It shows how vital it is to accept everyone, as we are all different and unique, and that uniqueness is what we should treasure. This is something I have taught my son as well as something I teach every year to my students who discover (through international projects) their talents. And having different ones is important for the projects to work. I endorse the messages of this amazing illustrated book for both children and adults. Thank you, Lara, for this gem of a book. This moving story will engage young readers, students, parents, and teachers alike!

Based on a true story, Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel by Lara Eurdolian King is a children's picture book that follows the life of a senior dog waiting eagerly for his forever home. Charlie is a senior Pomeranian who happily does his duties as the tour guide of Pom Springs Hotel. Every day, Charlie meets new families and shows them around the hotel property. Whether taking new guests to the pool or showing them the way to the golf course, Charlie keeps a joyful attitude and greets his friends along the way. And his friends include rabbits, ducklings, swans, and even a heron. But more than anything, Charlie wants someone to tuck him in and find his own forever family. How long will he have to wait?

Inspired by the real-life story of Charlie King, a senior Pomeranian rescued through a hotel's pet adoption program, Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel is a picture book about pet adoption and found family. This is a heartwarming tale everyone can enjoy, children and adults alike. Author Lara Eurdolian King brings a lot of emotional weight to the narrative, centered around an adorable dog who shines the brightest amongst all the other vibrant characters. The illustrations by Chamberlin Newsome perfectly complement King's storytelling and add layers of depth to the characters' personalities. After finishing the book, you can't help but feel a bit warm and fuzzy inside with a hopeful outlook toward life. This is a wholesome story that needs to be read and shared with your family and friends. Highly recommended.

Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel is a children's story written by Lara Eurdolian King and illustrated by Chamberlin Newsome. At the Pom Springs Hotel, Charlie the Pomeranian helps Ms. Jane with guests as they arrive. Charlie is up for adoption and is forever hopeful that his adoption day will soon come. He introduces the guests to fish, a turtle, a rabbit, a swan, ducklings, and a duck. When he is feeling a little low, his night heron friend, George, does his best to cheer him up. Every night, Charlie dreams of finding his forever family. When Lara and James arrive, Charlie introduces them to the hotel bees who work hard to make honey for the hotel. Every single day, Lara visits Charlie, they go for walks, and she reads to him. On their final night, Lara and James take Charlie to the hotel's restaurant for dinner. When they return, James learns that Charlie has still not found a forever home, so he and Lara take Charlie with them to New York, to become part of their forever family.

Although a children's story, Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel brought a smile to my face and tears to my eyes. When asked who tucks Charlie in at night, his failure to respond truly pulled at my heartstrings. I worked at the RSPCA Animal Shelter for a long time and saw animals with hope in their eyes and hearts day after day, and seeing them adopted into the right families made the world a little brighter on those days. I very much enjoyed how Charlie had his own little family among the animals and staff of the Pom Springs Hotel, making the story much easier for all ages to relate to. Lara Eurdolian King's beautiful tale of animal adoption is ideal for any families who wish to add to their own with a pet, whether it be furry, swimming in water, or even flying through the air. Children aged five years and over should have Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel in their home library, just where my copy will be.

Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel is a beautifully crafted book for young children, written by Lara Eurdolian King and illustrated by Chamberlin Newsome. Charlie, a senior Pomeranian, dreams of one day being adopted by his forever family. Guests come and go at the hotel, and Charlie eagerly shows them around and also introduces them to some of his friends at the hotel, which include fish, turtles, rabbits, and geese, as well as the bees to which the hotel owes its constant supply of honey. Some guests observe that Charlie's friends all have families at the hotel, but when they ask Charlie about his family, Charlie is quick to change the subject and show them the rest of the hotel. On a good day, Charlie meets Lara and James King, who fall instantly in love with him. Will they become Charlie's forever family?

Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel was an instant hit for me. A short read for children, it might even bring a tear to an adult's eye, as was the case for me. It teaches young children the importance of family and that families don't always look the same or have the same meaning for everyone. It also teaches them love and compassion toward animals, especially rescues. The illustrations by Chamberlin Newsome are ultra-professional and suit the tone of writing that Lara Eurdolian King employs. It is a book with strong themes, deep meaning, and a charming and eloquent story. I love the fact that a portion of the proceeds from sales go toward animal welfare, as stated on its cover.

Pets can become loyal friends for life, so it is essential to understand, appreciate and respect them. Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel emphasizes these ideas in a friendly way. Lara Eurdolian King shares the story of Charlie, a charming Pomeranian, who is the tour guide at the hotel. He takes guests to explore places like the swimming pool and the golf course. Charlie introduces them to his friends, including animals like turtles and rabbits that live together in harmony. Although Charlie always shows kindness and a positive attitude, there are times when he rests under his favorite tree, longing to be adopted by a loving family. Fortunately, one day, a couple arrives at the hotel and takes a liking to him.

I loved Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel because it highlights living with diverse animals. The narrative offers valuable lessons about collaboration, from the friendship between ducks and swans to the bees' contribution of honey to the hotel. The images are lovely, featuring light tones that reflect the harmony of the environment. Lara Eurdolian King's writing style is fun, as the story is narrated from the perspective of Charlie, who can communicate with people, so it facilitates interaction. The story is about maintaining hope. The characters are friendly, and the messages they exemplify are helpful, such as family diversity and the responsibility needed when owning a pet. Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel is a wonderful book to raise awareness about adoption and the care needed when owning pets.
