Author Biography

Seth Hunt, born and raised in Indianapolis, IN, discovered his passion for drawing at a tender age. At twelve, a Christmas gift of a sketch pad and drawing table ignited his love for illustration. Immersed in comic books, he pedaled to the local shop, spending hours absorbed in storytelling artistry.
Middle school advanced art programs honed his skills beyond pencil and paper, expanding his repertoire. While pursuing graphic design in college, Seth delved into digital illustration but found the path unfulfilling. Despite this setback, he dedicated his free time to refining his illustrative style, drawing inspiration from various sources.
After years of working and starting a family, Seth returned to school, earning a degree in Informatics. This transition facilitated a career as a Data Analyst, providing flexibility to prioritize parenthood while nurturing his artistic endeavors.
Launching his own business and website, Seth showcases his original artwork, prints, stickers, and apparel. Drawing from childhood comic book adventures, he embarked on children's storytelling, exemplified by his debut book, "Eliot and the Red Boots." Inspired by his family's tradition, the tale weaves a (somewhat) true narrative of passing down a cherished pair of red boots to his young son, Eliot.
Seth's aspiration is to continue Eliot's adventures, captivating audiences with imaginative tales that resonate with the heart.

Eliot and the Red Boots is the first book in the Eliot and the Red Boots Adventures by Seth Hunt and Andrea Conde. Eliot doesn't want to stay inside, but the rainy weather keeps him from going outdoors. He tries to voice his concerns to his dad and sister, but they are unhelpful. After complaining to his mom, she digs out a pair of red rain boots and tells him a story about them. His mother details the family history around the red boots, telling Eliot about traveling with them from England to Indiana and passing them on to other family members. Eliot develops an appreciation for the boots before he steps into them to go outside and have his own adventures.

Seth Hunt and Andrea Conde have produced a book that could stay in a family for generations. Families may not have red boots, but they could have other items that have been passed down over time or have traveled across countries. Caregivers could read this book to children before they present them with a family heirloom or dig out a hand-me-down that has survived the test of time. Hunt involved his family in the book, incorporating text in Eliot's handwriting and including his sister, Andrea Conde, in the writing process. Hunt also illustrated the book and the unique images will draw children's eyes to the pages. Eliot and the Red Boots is a good start to the series, and I hope to read more books featuring Eliot in the future.

Eliot and the Red Boots by Seth Hunt and Andrea Conde is book 1 in the Eliot and the Red Boots Adventures stories. It’s raining and muddy outside, and Eliot is sulking. He desperately wants to go out and play, but he doesn’t have the right shoes. Everyone knew he was in a grump but it was Mum to the rescue. She found him a pair of red boots, her boots from when she was a child. She shared stories of her childhood with Eliot, teaching him the journey she and the boots went on. Eliot loved his new boots, and he was determined to have as many adventures as he could with them – playing in the rain was just the start.

Eliot and the Red Boots by Seth Hunt and Andrea Conde is also wonderfully illustrated by Seth Hunt. This isn’t just a fun kids' story. It’s about family ties, shared experiences, and the value of a family legacy passed down through the ages. This well-written story perfectly captures the essence of a grumpy little boy who can’t do what he wants. Some of the descriptions made me laugh out loud as they reminded me so much of my younger brother when we were kids. This is a great book for kids, as it also teaches them that there is always a solution and that getting in a grump doesn’t solve anything, especially when it affects everyone else around them. A lovely story, highly recommended for all kids.

Eliot and the Red Boots is a children's adventure tale by Seth Hunt and Andrea Conde. Eliot is a young boy who loves to go outside and play. But today, it's raining outside and this has made Eliot very grumpy because he doesn't have shoes to wear in the mud. Eliot makes sure everyone knows he's grouchy, including his dad, older sister, and mom. But his mom has something stored in her closet. It's a pair of red boots she used to wear as a child when she lived with her family in England. It was given to her by her grandmother and passed down to her younger siblings, and now, her son needs them. Fitted with his red boots, Eliot is ready to face the rain and the mud.

A heartwarming adventure tale about family heritage, Eliot and the Red Boots is a joy to read from start to finish. Seth Hunt and Andrea Conde present a beautiful story that demonstrates how old family treasures can still find a way to brighten someone's day. The narrative also showcases how a child perceives the world around them as an immigrant in another country for the first time. The characters are likable and relatable. Eliot is someone you can't help but adore, and young readers will find themselves rooting for him from the get-go. Seth Hunt's vibrant illustrations breathe life into the characters and make the story even more entertaining to the reader. I loved the first book in this series and am eager to read the sequels in the future. Recommended to children and their parents alike.

He wants to play outside, but he does not have the right shoes for the muddy weather. This makes him sad, and he complains about his situation. Fortunately, his mother finds her old red rain boots in the closet and gives them to him. She shares with Eliot the beautiful story of how she got the boots and how they have been passed down through their family. Eliot promises to take good care of the boots and has many fun adventures in them.

Eliot and the Red Boots is the first book in the Eliot and the Red Boots Adventures series, and it focuses on the sentimental value of items that are passed down through generations. The story emphasizes the bond between family members and the importance of creating memories while embracing new adventures. The authors use simple words to narrate the story, making it appealing to children and easy to understand and follow. Readers will fall in love with the characters and enjoy getting to know them. Eliot is a typical child who has tantrums and loves playing in the rain, and his family dogs are an adorable addition to the story. I hope to see more of them in future installments because they seem interesting. The colorful, cartoon-like illustrations perfectly complement the story and add humor. This is a delightful read that both children and parents will enjoy because it conveys a meaningful message about family ties and embracing new experiences. Great work!
