If I Knew You is a heart-warming children’s picture book by Merry Ella Writer. The story depicts the amazing bond parents and children share. It follows the life of a mother and her daughter. From the first stage of pregnancy, a woman talks to her baby in the womb, and when the child is born, they spend time together. The mother teaches her daughter how to talk, walk, and eventually run. As the child grows, they will go to school, meet new people, and develop hobbies like dancing, mountain climbing, and traveling. The mother and daughter may grow apart and live in different places, but they will still love each other. Life is a never-ending cycle. One day, the daughter will become the mother and share the love she received from her mother with her children.

If I Knew You is an emotional tale that will stir your heart and bring a tear to your eye. A mother’s love is a beautiful feeling that cannot be quantified. It is comforting to read a book that shows appreciation for the emotional journey that mothers go through. I applaud Merry Ella Writer’s simple yet profound storytelling skills. She uses simple words and phrases, which is perfect for children because it will make it easy for them to understand. It highlights the crucial moments in every child’s life and the mother's role in helping them through each stage. I also loved the illustrations because they coincided with the story and beautifully depicted the happy and affectionate moments between them. Parents and guardians, please read this story with your children and create an unbreakable bond with them.
