Mind Over Madeleine: Companion Novel to The Garden Key (The Garden Key Tales) (Volume 2): A tale of fear, forgiveness, and the Loch Ness Monster by Angela Dolbear is the story of Madeleine and her lonely life. Madeleine is married to Peter, who is a professional musician. Her life is filled with insecurities caused by her husband's successful career and fame. She feels that she is not gorgeous enough for him to remain faithful for a long time. When Peter goes away to Nashville for a recording, her fears reach a new height. She shares her worries with her friend Lydia and her husband. The twist in the story happens when Madeleine finds herself surrendering to temptation. Will this wreck their marriage or will she survive this ordeal?
The book takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. We see Madeleine feeling insecure about being married to a successful star. Her thoughts, insecurities, fear, and loneliness keep readers occupied. The suspense angle adds to the mystery of the story. The story is fast paced and enjoyable mainly because of the story line. There is also the right amount of humor in the story. All the characters in the book have been portrayed well, giving a much-needed boost to the main characters, Madeleine and Peter.
The book speaks about the married life of a young couple and how their relationship faces trials and tribulations. It is a story that will resonate with many married couples. Though the author has written a story that is happening around us, the scenes are not predictable. The fact that it is not a conventional romantic theme makes it interesting book to read.
