She talks about hate, loss, aging, and death and raises awareness about depression, suicide, and anxiety. Despite the dark themes, the poems also have messages of hope and joy. The book also has poems about everlasting love, desire, and passion. Get a copy to appreciate this amazing piece of art for yourself.

I love reading Anna Casamento Arrigo’s poems because they make you view life and situations from a unique perspective, and her integration of poetry, art, and music has always mesmerized me. After reading her other book, Petals, I could not wait to read Patience, Insanity, and Wisdom. I am happy to report that she did not disappoint. From the mythical-style imagery of the book cover to the well-constructed words that directly pierce your soul, I loved everything about this book. The author draws from her childhood and life experience to write about dark moments, the fear of dying, and the love that endures. The poems are well-written and have a consistent format. The abstract art is bursting with colors and makes the book visually appealing to read. If you love poems that heal and help you realize you are not alone, I highly recommend you read this book.

Patience, Insanity, and Wisdom by Anna Casamento Arrigo is a collection of original art and poetry that collaboratively paints both a literal and figurative picture of the human state. Each piece ranges in length, tone, and style, from the minimalist confessional of I Am Enough, which conveys a sense of self-acceptance and contentment with one's own existence, to the reflective nostalgia of Tomorrow, which captures the essence of childhood memories, the fleeting nature of these moments, and the joy of living in the present; and on to the societal commentary of Humanity, a contrast of the luxury and materialism of fashion brands with the raw vulnerability of humanity, its fragility, and its need for rebirth. Arrigo employs a first-person narrative voice to make the work relatable and intimate.

Anna Casamento Arrigo has a lot to say, and her choice of platform to effectively deliver these messages is pitch-perfect in Patience, Insanity, and Wisdom. The full-color artwork and its abstract designs are as vivid and vibrant as her ability to weave pointed, punchy analogies into each line of the accompanying poetry. The standout to me is For the Love of an Older Woman, and even as a man, I loved that Arrigo addresses the rekindling of love and passion in later life. This is a frequently overlooked period of life; the transition from “days of children outgrowing their need of this 70-year-old woman" to "he breathed love into my soul." Overall, this is a thought-provoking and heartening compilation of Arrigo's beautiful work, and I have no doubt it will resonate with many of its readers. Very highly recommended.
