When readers of the first three books about Dahlia Hughes, successful author/heiress, learn that Dahlia’s jet is crashing into the ocean, they most likely conclude that’s the last we’ll hear of Dahlia. Ah…not so fast. She may be gone but a new protagonist, Dahlia’s publisher, Charlotte, takes the story in a different direction in D.F Kennedy's The Last Time I Saw Her. With Dahlia’s unexpected exit, we reunite with Charlotte, now in a romantic relationship with a lawyer after a harrowing experience with her ex, Guy Burke, and worried about the future of the publishing company she manages for Dahlia.

Keeping with the reflective-narrative style D.F. Kennedy favors, the perfect conduit to the protagonist’s emotions and thinking, this gifted author once again enthralls readers with her clever plotting, unexpected twists, and characters turned malevolent by the demands of wealthy, controlling families. Simultaneously, she explores the depths of true friendship when Charlotte is kidnapped. Is there more to her kidnapping than she has been told? And what is in the suitcase that Charlotte knows nothing about but others are desperate to find? Fans of D.F. Kennedy’s writing will be as captivated by Charlotte as they were by Dahlia Hughes. They will turn the pages of this psychological thriller as quickly as they did the pages of the previous books. And, unless I’m not as perceptive as I believe I am, they will look forward to wherever D.F. Kennedy will take us next with her new protagonist. Read The Last Time I Saw Her today and speculate on what we’ll see Charlotte doing in her possible future.
