Have you ever wondered if you were alone or felt that way? Caroline L. Thornton offers reassurance that you are not alone in The Road that Weaves and Bends. This tale helps children face the changes that occur in their daily lives. As we journey throughout life, we have different experiences that evoke different emotions. Sometimes, you will laugh and be full of happiness. Other times, you will cry and be full of sorrow. Some moments are full of hope. Other moments are full of frustrations. Sometimes, you may not understand how you should feel or what you should do. Each moment in life has ups or downs. Every individual in the world experiences the same things. Every experience brings growth during your life journey.

Caroline L. Thornton has written a beautiful story that is very inspirational and encouraging. I love the theme in The Road that Weaves and Bends of finding your path in life and staying true to yourself. She covers the emotions we experience, like fear, doubt, happiness, and more. She helps establish an understanding that no matter what path you choose, everyone has dreams, goals, and problems to overcome to reach them. Leo J.'s illustrations pair perfectly with the verses. They are vibrant, beautiful, and thought-provoking, flowing with the concept of each verse. I love that the images are diverse and inclusive and feature different aspects of life. Parents and children of all ages who enjoy poetry should read this book.
