Wilderness Trail of Love (American Wilderness Series Romance) (Volume 1) by Dorothy Wiley is set in 1797, on America's frontier. Stephen Wyllie longs for land in far away Kentucky, and he is willing to brave the wilderness and all the perils of traveling there to make a better life for his wife, Jane, and their four daughters. He gathers his family to make the trip with him and hopes they will all arrive at their destination in one piece. Jane is uncertain about leaving her home and exposing their family to danger for a piece of land, but agrees to go because it is what Stephen wants, and she can't bear to separate the man from his dream. When the harsh realities of their journey nearly tear them apart, Stephen and Jane must find a path through more than the wilderness.
Dorothy Wiley has crafted an exciting historical romance that captivates and amazes. Heart pounding conflict from the start, excitement that carries through to the very end, and many situations that keep you on the edge of your seat are all reasons to keep reading Wilderness Trail of Love. Characters that love deeply, but also have room to grow and evolve, Stephen and Jane share a tender and heart melting bond of love. Their strength and determination to make it through their journey for themselves and each other is inspiring. The rest of the cast are strongly written and they all mesh together well. I enjoyed every minute of this book and recommend it.
