Book Review
Tori Rivers began her research by writing letters to nine serial killers. One letter piqued her curiosity. Over the next four years, she corresponded with Tommy Lynn Sells. He opened up to her and shared details of the crimes he committed. Tommy Lynn Sells traveled the states killing an unknown number of people.

Sells is very open and graphic in his description of the murders. “I’ve killed for revenge; I’ve killed for hire, killed for sex, killed to cover my ass, killed because I was just pissed off.” “I felt so f…… good killing that there were times I even had an orgasm while I was killing someone. “

I find it amazing that there are prison groupies and that women or men will marry a person on death row. Nevertheless, my job is not to judge them but to review 13 ½ Twelve Jurors One Judge and a Half Assed Chance. I will try to be fair. This is not an easy book to read. Tori Rivers is very talented writer. She successfully brings to light the life Tommy Sells lived as a child. She reveals what prison life is like. In the chapter 21, Sellers writes, “Yes I’m sorry for what I’ve done. And yes I’m sorry for the person y’all made me, Most of all I feel sorry for your sorry-ass society.” This is not the words of a repentant man. Once you begin to read this book, you are compelled to finish it. A peek into this killers mind will assist mental health experts and law officials. However the average person will be horrified by 13 ½ Twelve Jurors One Judge and a Half Assed Chance.

This book is truelly one of a kind. It takes you into the mind of a serial killer and how his thought process works. I enjoyed the book tremendously and hope there are more to come like this one.

I absolutely LOVE true crime books. This one takes the cake. You will travel through the life of Tommy Lynn Sells from beginning til death row. It is very well written and I wouldn't be suprised if it is made in to a movie. This book is so engrossing and so real that virtually any reader will find it hard to put down. You will lock your doors day and night after reading this book!

I am giving this book a 5-star review. It was a fairly easy read. Once you start this book, you just want to keep reading. I guess part of me wanted to know what was going happen next, and the other part of me just wanted to get to the end. This was a glance in to the twisted and perverted life of Tommy Sells, a convicted serial murderer. This attempt at giving the readers an inside peak of what goes on in the mind of a rapist and killer is successful. I do not think that the author is trying to glorify or give reason to Tommy Sells unimaginable acts - you must remember that this is in his words.
