Sylvia Price was a former police officer turned private eye. She and her partner, Denim, worked closely together until he retired due to an injury. When she begins investigating a missing engagement ring/murder, she pulls Denim into the investigation.
Sylvia’s former partner on the police force, Detective Orlando Bateman, and Denim both had romantic notions toward Sylvia. Sylvia had feelings for Denim but baggage from her past stands in the way.
This is an excellent start to the newest series by the author, Karen Wiesner. I’m reminded of some of my favorites from the past: Nick and Nora Charles and Perry Mason. This is a real page turner. It held my attention to the very last word. Mystery fans will not want to miss "Retired And On The Rocks."
