Author Biography Candy Ann Little grew up in a small town in Ohio. She now resides in Michigan with her husband and two kids. Her novels mostly consisit of Christian romances and general mysteries, but she doesn't like to limit her creativity. She'll write any genre as long as the story is rattling around her head. When she isn't writing you can find her enjoying a good book, cooking or baking. She also enjoys doing crafts and working with kids.

Bailey Rhodes never liked the small town life, and having her heart broken was the last straw. After completing high school she moves to New York City where she attends college and then joins the NYPD. She begins to feel the rules of the police are too restrictive and quits the force and becomes a private investigator. Now, years later she reluctantly returns home for her reunion. She immediately sees her old flame Randy in an intense argument with another man, a man hated by most of the town, who subsequently turns up dead. The local police want to believe that the death was an accident or even suicide, but Bailey’s instincts and experience tell her differently.
As Bailey begins to investigate she is immediately warned over and over again to leave it alone. Things progress with the evidence pointing more and more toward her old high school sweetheart. Although she is a firm believer in the evidence, her heart tells her that maybe she is wrong. Could the man she loved all those years ago be a cold hearted killer?
Although not overly fond of romantic mystery stories, I found this one to be quite enjoyable right along the line of the cozy mystery genre. It is a simple, easy read with well defined characters, particularly the protagonist, and a sound plot. The story and dialog are written in such a manner that the reader can actually feel the exasperation of the young woman, frustrated at every turn but wanting to do the right thing. Very nicely done.
