Book Review Dr. Gino Tutera offers hope for those terrible hot flashes. There are many symptoms of menopause and the male equivilant, andropause. The symptoms include: decreased sex drive, hot flashes, night sweats, depression, “fuzzy thinking”, poor memory, chronic fatigue, increase in belly fat, and diminished physical agility. Tutera shares his expertise in Life Regained. He explains HRT (hormone replacement therapy), the different types and the side effects.
I was very interested in the pellets. I have used both the patch and the pills. I will be taking this book to my doctor and asking about PHDS. In Life Regained, the focus is hormonal imbalance, which covers more than menopause and andropause. Chapter 8 focuses on serious health problems, such as breast cancer, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome. Dr. Tutera is a practicing OB/GYN and has a clinic that is devoted to hormonal replacement.
Note: I took this book to my doctor. It seems the pellets are only available through Dr. Tutera. I was very disappointed. |

Although I have yet to read this recent book of Dr. Tutero's.....I can offer up my experience as a patient of his. Dr. Tutero is, without hesitation, vastly knowledgeable about this topic. My husband and I were extremely impressed with his bedside manner, if you will, on our first visit with him. Our appointment lasted almost 90 minutes. The blood workup that he did on us was intensive. Any questions that we had were answered with thoughtfullness and sincere concern. I would recommend to anyone that is experiencing hormonal problems to contact Dr. Tutero. The change in my life and my husbands has been wonderful. I definitely will be ordering this book.

I agree with the other reviews. This is an excellent book. Most books on the subject only deal with menopause, but this one sees the need to also address andropause. A valuable perspective, and well written. I recommend this book to anyone wanting good info on this topic.
