Several decades ago, eight-year-old Hannah Moreland disappeared from her home. Her sister, Maureen, who now lives a severely agoraphobic lifestyle, was only fifteen at the time, yet still holds herself accountable for the incident, and so do her parents. She believes that Hannah’s ghost is haunting her but why? In Siblings and Secrets by Kathleen J. Easley, as the story evolves readers will see the hidden trauma and secrets of the Moreland house and what lurks in the neighborhood. Enter Brenna Wickman who was once Hannah's best friend. But there’s more here than meets the eye because the reader will discover the skeletons not only in the Moreland home but in how the private affairs of the neighbors, who've lived in the neighborhood since Hannah’s disappearance, tie into the plot.

Siblings and Secrets by Kathleen J. Easley is a great example of when nothing happens by coincidence. If life’s challenges hadn’t occurred in Brenna’s life, she would not have returned to her old home and neighborhood. I really enjoyed this book and readers will be amazed and shocked while following the twists and turns of the story. As they journey with Brenna, they will discover why she felt it was important to establish a relationship with Maureen and why she believes that she’s seeing Hannah's ghost. This story is about reconciliation, love lost yet found again, misunderstanding, and revealing the truth behind what happened that day. If you want a great book to curl up with, look no further than Siblings and Secrets.
