True North is a work of fiction in the science fiction, romance, and adventure subgenres. It is intended for the young adult reading audience and was penned by author Jennifer Edelson. In this utterly engrossing, cool modern adventure tale, we meet protagonist Indy, who appears to be a typical young person that gets very nerdy about books and boys. But Indy has a secret belief in the extra-terrestrial, and when her internet radio show True North begins to attract the attention of others who can prove that UFOs are real, she runs the risk of having to unmask her radio alter ego and taking on one danger after the next to uncover the truth.

True North was a fabulous adventure tale that encompasses all of the best parts of young adult fiction but also spins a truly unique alien tale with a plotline that was delightfully original and unexpected. I particularly enjoyed Indy as a central character that author Jennifer Edelson crafts with such loving attention to detail and resonant emotional realism. Her dialogue and narration are dynamic and exciting for the target age range, and I also enjoyed the way her personality shone and she become more confident in her Orion persona for the radio show. Add to this the atmospheric scenery and thrilling action scenes of the work, the interpersonal relationship and romantic fun with local jock Sawyer and the absolutely fascinating world of UFOs, and True North becomes a top recommendation for any fan of YA fiction looking for a talented author and a new hero to adore.

Go on a roller-coaster adventure with Indy Lewin-Kaminetzsky as she deals with high school, crushes, and UFOs in the out-of-this-world novel, True North. After nearly drowning as a child, Indy was saved by what she claims was a UFO. When coordinates begin to broadcast into her brain, Indy starts an internet radio station, True North, with the safety of a disguise. But how safe is she? As mysterious events occur, more danger seems to follow. Will a simple disguise be enough to protect her, her friends, and her family? While she tries to make sense of her new ability to predict supernatural events and the supernatural events themselves, Indy finds herself with a crush on bad-boy Sawyer Reyes. Jennifer G. Edelson’s True North is brilliant, especially if you’re looking for an adventure.

True North is a marvelous read that took me on a fast-paced, action-packed, wonderful adventure. I loved the coordinates and couldn’t wait to see what they meant. The story is fresh and kept me on my toes until the very last page. The characters are fun and well-written. I love the way Indy is written. She is a strong woman with flaws. Edelson shows how women can be strong but still human and I loved it. I absolutely adored the beautiful, yet so awkward, teenage romance that Jennifer G. Edelson has created between Indy and Sawyer. It captures the misunderstandings, the insecurity, the confusion as well as all the poignancy that goes into young love.

Indy Lewin-Kaminsky never expected her simple radio show True North to be the focus of rebellion and dangerous things to come. It all started six years before when she drowned and was revived. People thought that she only pretended to drown but Indy knew she had died and come back to life. She still remembered the figures hovering over the river and the strange lights and rainbow clouds above the water. Her teddy bear, Boo, had vanished and it was just another mystery to add to her near-death experience. Her belief in UFOs started there and, to deepen the riddle, she started getting ambushed by 'number' visions which made her head feel as if it was splitting open. In trying to figure out what the numbers meant she created True North, but she never expected things to get out of hand! Read True North by Jennifer Edelson to find out what happens next!

Jennifer Edelson’s True North is a steady-paced, young adult science fiction work that grabbed my interest from the start. Indy is a not-so-typical girl with unique tastes, interests, and an intriguing past. Not many people can say they have returned from the dead and that they constantly have headaches caused by numbers popping into their heads. She was sassy and determined in her curiosity and I excitedly followed her through her UFO sighting ordeals and her flirtation with bad-boy Sawyer Reyes. The story’s concept is unique and enticing, and this is an absolute page-turner! Edelson knows how to skillfully weave a web of interest and intrigue and I was a fly happily caught by the lure. This exceptionally well-written novel is a treasure trove of distinctive characters and an incredible plot! Outstanding work!
