How to Create a Fantastic Book on Any Topic

If you have decided to write a book, your ability to write it is not in question. You are probably willing to spare no effort to write a great book. These tips will help you to write the best book possible, regardless of what your chosen topic is.

1. Find a fantastic story idea. You probably have an idea for a story when you decide to write a book. The best thing is to start out with a list of ideas and choose the one that is most likely to make the best novel. You should try to expand the ideas you have to see how much you can write on each idea. This is when you should drop the ideas that seem inadequate and take the ones that have real promise.

2. Pick the best idea. You should have a list of best ideas from your brainstorming session, together with their strengths and weaknesses. Based on your assessment, you should pick one idea and go with it. Create a story goal based on that idea and determine how long you want the book to be. You should then set the length of chapters, decide how many chapters the book should have, what genre the book will belong to, and the audience. At this point, you should also decide whether a character or narrator will tell the story.

3. Start writing. You should now find a quiet place to start writing. The first chapter of a book is very important and you should write it very carefully. This is the chapter where you introduce the main conflict in the book together with the characters. You should always keep track of the ideas that come to you by writing them down and estimating the point in the story where you can use the ideas.

4. Space out the story. Continue writing but always remember the number of pages you set for each chapter. When writing you should keep an eye on chapter length to avoid having unevenly sized chapters.

5. Read through your own story twice. What do you think about the story when you have finished it? You should not compare your story to novels by other authors but look at it objectively as a reader would. Avoid asking family and friends because they’ll probably not be truthful. If you give it to friends and family, don’t tell them that you wrote it in order to get a honest opinion.

6. Create a good title. The process of naming the book should happen when you are still writing it. Find a catchy title that best describes the book.

7. Find ideas for the cover art. This is a step that you can skip if you want to be traditionally published because publishers usually design your cover art. However, if you want to publish the book yourself, you should figure out an appropriate cover design.
