How To Promote Your Book

1. Make a Twitter account and begin to follow other writers you admire. Build a following of your own and begin to promote your book. Tweet small excerpts or reviews you have received.

 2. Do a book promotion. Give a few copies of your book away for free and in return ask them to send you photos of them with your book. Then post these on your Facebook fan page and all other social media including Pinterest.

3. Join Facebook groups for writers or book lovers. Interact on posts, comment on threads and post interesting articles you think they may find useful. This will build your reputation as a source of knowledge. Threads in Facebook groups or on other people’s threads will build your reputation as an expert.

4. Upload your book on Amazon. This can be done in minutes. Then run a KDP free promotion. Advertise your giveaway on all your social media platforms and Facebook groups and ask for reviews. They still work if you use them correctly.

5. Post some free content or excerpts from your book on http://scribd.com. This is a great site and you can also sell your book on here for great exposure.

6. Find out if there is a group or school near you that would benefit from the subject matter of your book and ask if you can give a talk. This is especially good for self-help or spiritual genres.

7. If you have an email list then create a series of messages explaining the benefits of buying your book. Again this is perfect for self-help or cookery books. Maybe you could include a sample recipe or words of wisdom as an incentive. Remember to place a link for your book in your email signature.

 8. Ask a question on Quora or Reddit. With clever use of keywords from the title of your book, it should show up in keyword searches, giving you extra promotion. You can mention your book in the question but be careful of oversell. This will just annoy people.

9. Get more reviews and Readers Favorite is a perfect place to start. Use these as a great marketing tool.

10. There is a fantastic website called Fiverr and you can get a really funny promotional video or poster made for as little as $5. You can then post the video to YouTube or social media platforms.

11. Run a contest or a giveaway for your book from your website or Facebook page. Just check with your publisher first as they may object.

12. Start a Facebook group related to the genre of your book. You can then place a brief synopsis of your book as a pinned post. Here you can connect and interact with likeminded people, share ideas and maybe gain material for your next book. You can even go to Fiverr and hire someone to post on your page while you concentrate on your writing.

13. Did you know that adding a resources page to your book not only increases the overall size of your book, but the reader will see more than 10% of the content of your book? I have used this and my sales definitely increased.

14. Finally, check out if there are any book or craft fairs, in fact anywhere that people who are interested in the content of your book would gather. This not only gives your book some great exposure, but is also a great place to network and meet those connections.
