How to Write an Amazing Sex Scene Part1

Do you want to write erotic fiction or are you just looking to have a believable but steamy scene in your novel? Whatever the case, there can be no mistaking that a well-written sex scene can leave your reader panting for more! On the other hand, a badly written romantic encounter can turn your reader off quicker than a faulty lightbulb.

So, what are the main tricks to writing good sex? Here are a few tips I have picked up when writing steamy scenes. I call it my humping help list!

Get in the mood: If you have a partner then do what comes naturally to put you in the mood to write. Personally, I love to write sex the morning after the dirty deed, still bathed in the afterglow and filled with lustful thoughts that can be transferred to print. Don’t have a partner? Watch some smut, it doesn’t have to be porn but if that's what floats your boat then go for it. If you don’t do porn, try a classic like 9 and 1/2 weeks. The key is to stimulate your brain into an erotic state in order to create the writing you desire.

Choose your location wisely: If your favorite writing spot is Starbucks and there is a chance that someone will be reading over your shoulder then you may want to think again. If you are popping your cherry with erotica you do not want an audience. Writing the phrase “pink moist lips” for the first time is a private affair and should not be witnessed by anyone, no matter how well-meaning they may be. Choose a setting where you will not be disturbed, put on some mood-enhancing music and let your hot sticky fingers descend on…… your keyboard!

Chill: Much like having sex, writing about it is all about atmosphere, and just like sex, this can be enhanced by a couple of cheeky drinks. I am not suggesting you get blotto before writing your opus erotica, but a couple of liveners can help you relax and think sexily. Writing your first sex scene can be terrifying and embarrassing, having a couple of glasses of wine can make it less so.

Don’t stop until everyone is happy: We all know that when we are writing it can be beneficial to take a break, check out our emails and just take our mind off things for a while. Not so when writing sex scenes, imagine if your partner suddenly leaped up during your sweaty coupling and announced he was off to change the oil in his car. You would be devastated and the whole experience would be dreadful, even if he did come back to finish the job. The same thing is true when writing sex scenes; it should all be written as one smooth, passion-filled explosive experience and should not be abandoned until both parties have achieved the heights of ecstasy and the whole scene would make a blacklight operator blush!

Which leads me to my next point…………………………
