What Are the Best Ways to Publish Your Ebooks?

Publishing your ebook has never been this easy but choosing which platform to use has never been this hard. This is a seemingly contradictory statement but quite true. With the help of a computer and by just following the easy step-by-step instructions, you can now self-publish all your ebooks in less than an hour! Unlike a decade before where getting a publisher to publish your book was the hardest thing to do, self-publishing now is equivalent to having your own fairy godmother, ready to grant all your wishes.

However, your concern is not just to publish your books but, more importantly, to sell your ebooks and to have that financial gain. You, as the writer, therefore would want the best way to publish your ebooks and understandably so. There are many platforms that provide unique and attractive offers. As the writer, it is your job to study each offer and decide for yourself which is the best. Here are some of your options. There are other platforms not mentioned here but are worthy of your consideration too.

Your number one consideration of course is the size of the market. Where are the buyers of the ebooks? This is where the strength of Amazon’s Kindle lies. As of today, they hold the record for the highest ebook sales. This is followed by Barnes and Noble’s Nook and lastly by Apple’s iBooks. If you are a beginner writer and you are just establishing your market, then Kindle is a good place to start. However, if you already have a good following, you can opt to change your platform.

Another positive point with Kindle is its readability on other devices. Ebooks in Kindle can be read even with iPads and other tablet brands. This is the downside of iBooks. iBooks can only be read using Apple iOS devices. Kindle has taken ebook marketing to its best with various strategies like free samples, lending library and other kinds of promotions. And their purchase scheme is so customer-friendly. Buying ebooks from them is as easy as ABC. This means that the probability of your ebook being sold is higher through Kindle.

However, before you decide, continue to study your options. Nook has an unusual strategy. Nook’s special feature is the difficulty of the writers in getting their books published in this platform. You would think of that as a negative point but that’s what makes it attractive. It’s like a challenge for all writers to get their books published through Nook.

iBooks' special feature, on the other hand, is its creativity. Apple’s iBooks Author is free and can make a seemingly plain ebook into a very appealing, creative and artistic ebook.

Another major consideration when choosing the platform for your ebook is the royalties. The offers of iBooks and Nooks are better than that of Kindle’s, but Ingram Publishing is said to have the best offer when it comes to royalties.

Again, do your homework and look at all angles before you decide which is the best way for you to publish your ebook.
