In Meg Marquardt's 12 Things to Know about the Mesolithic Era, Marquardt explores this incredible time period with new concepts and terminology of the Paleoindian Period, stunning artwork, the eventual rise of farming, and the use of animals.

A time of change opened a new period for humans and Meg Marquardt hits upon the key factors that will give children a broad sense of history during the time. The world grew cold and this led to changes as humans began to settle down by growing their own crops and raising animals. Lovely images are included throughout that will give children a look at life during the time, which includes the tools of the era such as flints and how these made life easier. The melting of ice gave rise to new concepts as the people that were once hunters of large animal herds changed their means of survival as animals grew smaller.

Children will be introduced to the Paleoindian Period which will push them to dig further into the history of the Americas and that will give them a passion and interest in discovering old civilizations. They will discover the career of underwater archeology that has led to the discovery of various tools and weapons found buried underwater. Meg Marquardt's 12 Things to Know about the Paleolithic Era tackles a variety of facts that are engaging, thoroughly researched, and that range from daily life to how the rise of farming brought the Mesolithic cultures to an end.
