For any parent, witnessing their child grow up is a meaningful experience. Christine Adams' children's book, A Mother's Gift: Ten Little Toes, is a tender love letter from a mother to her child. It chronicles their relationship from when her daughter is in the womb and onward. Throughout the story, the mother speaks of her child's ten little toes and fingers as she watches her child grow up. Christine presents ordinary moments extraordinarily, by emphasizing different activities children do with their hands and feet. Every page portrays a simple moment in the child's life from a loving mother's perspective. Each moment presents as beautiful, emotional, and memorable at the same time. Children will learn about the deep love and care their mothers have for them throughout their life journey.
Christine Adams has written a masterpiece based on the love of a mother. She gently introduces themes such as grief, loss, and remembrance. These are complex topics that parents can talk about with their children. A Mother's Gift is one of the most beautiful, inspiring books I have ever read. It has become one of my favorites! Like it will many readers, this story moved me to tears. Christine's dedication of the book to her mother was very touching. As a child of immigrant Asian parents, I felt a deep connection to the story. A Mother's Gift also has interactive elements at the end for personal pictures and notes. This book would make an excellent gift for special occasions, such as the birth of a baby, a birthday, or graduation. I look forward to reading Christine Adam’s other books!
