Come Fill Up My Cup by Jean Murray Munden is a beautiful love story about Robin and James. The two meet in Scotland after Robin gets lost on a nostalgia trip. The couple has reservations about their past relationships and seems reluctant to act on the instant chemistry they feel for each other. Amidst the beautiful Scottish scenery, horseback riding, and bonding with James's family, the two fall deeper in love. Unfortunately, the past threatens their bonding. The death of James's wife is connected to the recent death of Robin's late husband's friend. James and Robin's love story is about missed connections, overlooking the right person, and getting a second chance even after being separated by distance and time.
This was an unusual romance because normally only one of the leads has lost a significant other, but in this book both have lost their spouses. The story has a good level of maturity and sincerity. The main characters, Robin and James, have wonderful chemistry as they fall in love. The author's descriptions of Scotland painted a fascinating and charming picture of the highlands and fields. The plot has a dose of mystery that made the story more dynamic. The side characters made the story interesting. I loved the journey of getting to know these characters and their life history. They had different, yet similar pasts and their experiences made their bond stronger.
