In "Friends Forever, Facing Whatever," Lori Stebert gives the reader glimpses of the various facets of friendship. She offers friendship quotes and then explains how laughter, tears, adventures, special moments, fears, life changes and lasting memories all tend to bind a friendship. The author suggests that all these memories are "kinds of fruit (that) grow upon the tree of life." Perhaps the heart of friendship is best described by Joseph Addison who says, "The mind never unbends itself so agreeably as in the conversation of a well-chosen friend." It is sentiments such as this which predominate the book and allow the reader to remember all the good, difficult and wonderful memories with that special friend. Another such poignant verse says that a friend is not just someone who fills a part of one's soul but rather, is someone that merges with the feelings of a friend.

This is a wonderful gift book for special friends. Having been read once, it will be put on a shelf in full sight so that it can be read time and time again. At times, the reader will be struck by a particular quote. At another time, a verse of prose will be just the right medicine for an aching heart. At other times, the beautiful illustrations of nature will help the heart to sing the praises of thankfulness for having experienced a lifelong friend. As one ages and friends begin to pass, the book will be a source of comfort and reminder of a life well lived.
