Love at First Spy by Mia Miller is a fast-paced LGBTQ+ romantic thriller that keeps you hooked from the start. Chloe thinks she’s living a pretty normal life until she finds out her ridiculously attractive but secretive neighbor, Ezek, is actually a spy. And not just any spy! She’s been sent to protect Chloe from the dangerous world of her grandfather’s crime empire. Talk about a plot twist. What starts as a game of watching each other’s every move slowly turns into something way more complicated. Chloe and Ezek can’t ignore their growing attraction, even though there are about a million reasons why they probably should. Their relationship unfolds in the middle of all this chaos, full of secrets, danger, and the constant fear that one wrong move could cost them everything. When Chloe finally decides she’s done living in the shadows of her family’s dark past, she and Ezek are thrown into an all-or-nothing fight where love might either be their biggest weakness or the thing that saves them.
Mia Miller absolutely nails the slow-burn romance. Every little glance, every small moment of trust, just builds up the tension until you’re fully invested in these two. The spy stuff isn’t just background noise either because it feels legit, with plenty of action and clever twists that keep you on edge. One of my favorite parts was watching Chloe grow because she goes from just reacting impulsively to everything happening around her to taking charge. The way Miller writes suspense is incredible and every scene is charged, whether it’s a quiet conversation full of bubbling emotions or an exciting chase through the shadows. The romance and the danger blend so well that you’re never sure which way the story is going to turn next, and the chemistry is so good. Nothing feels rushed or forced and it all happens naturally, making their connection feel even more real. Overall, Love at First Spy is the perfect mix of thrills, romance, and heart, and if you love a story that keeps you on your toes while making you swoon, this one is highly recommended.
