What does it take to have dreams and to achieve them? In Move Forward or Move Aside: How to Play the Game of Life to Win, Ron Malhotra offers timeless insights on the secret of beating the odds and achieving anything one wants to achieve in this life. In a reassuring voice, the author offers a proven path towards success, advising readers to create a purpose in life, to believe in that purpose, to develop a deep sense of responsibility by taking control over their lives and connecting more deeply with their calling.

The language of Move Forward or Step Aside: How to Play the Game of Life to Win is simple and confident, and although a lot has been written on how to achieve success, few writers are able to help readers define the why of their dreams and find out how to achieve those dreams the way Ron Malhotra does it. Malhotra draws insights from true life and personal stories, cites top authorities in the science of personal transformation, and offers a proven path to a fulfilling life. In the heart of this book is the message that we need to change our way of thinking in order to embrace the life we desire, and therein lies the greatest challenge. However, the author offers a step-by-step guide on how to change one’s thinking pattern and focus on one’s dreams. This is one of the books that will most definitely change the lives of millions of people and one that I will highly recommend to those who want to dream and make their dream a reality.

Move Forward or Move Aside by Ron Malhotra is a self-help book on how to live a healthy, happy life and realize your goals and dreams. This is a pretty comprehensive book and starts off with identifying one’s goals and passion, and then the steps one needs to take to actually achieve them. The chapters are divided into various steps and action items, and cover a variety of topics such as finding your purpose, passion, practicing gratitude, nurturing yourself, health and wellness, mindfulness, ambition, time management, and more. Each of the chapters is accompanied by specific tips and even work sheets to write down one’s goals and work towards them. There is also a website mentioned where one can find some additional and up-to-date information on this book and the author.

Move Forward or Move Aside by Ron Malhotra is well written and I found that the topics are organized in more or less a sequential manner, starting with identifying goals. The writing style is fluid and positive and one gets the impression that that author is passionate about this subject. Although I didn’t agree with some of the nutrition topics, such as eating gluten-free food, overall there is a lot of useful information in this book. I would recommend Move Forward or Move Aside by Ron Malhotra to anyone looking to change their life drastically.

Move Forward or Move Aside by Ron Malhotra is a positive and motivational book for those wanting to make changes in different areas of their lives. The author explains how life long beliefs, thoughts and habits can be the root cause of feelings of dissatisfaction or non-fulfillment. He uses easy to follow strategies and step by step guidance to show the reader how exactly to overcome these and replace them with healthier, positive systems that enable progress and success. A main four-point strategy covering discovering your purpose in life, understanding and/or changing your beliefs/thoughts, wellness and ambition are thoroughly explored in turn. Examples from the lives of well-known and inspiring people and many inspirational quotes are included.

Ron Malhotra’s book is a well written guide and is carefully thought out. The chapters will take you through the sensible and thought-provoking steps which highlight all the things that can restrict and inhibit, causing frustration in different areas of a person’s life. I liked the fact that this book isn’t merely promoting how to achieve financial or materialistic success, but has an emphasis on personal development and understanding that real contentment and happiness stems from discovering who you are, being true to yourself, working hard at what you’re passionate about, and “making a difference” in the world. The strategies are thoroughly sensible with doable suggestions for getting yourself “unstuck,” developing self awareness and moving forward.

Move Forward or Move Aside makes use of tried and trusted techniques, from cognitive behavior therapy methods of changing thoughts (and so changing behavior,) and current popular and enlightening theories of staying in the present or the “now.” There is so much in this very readable book that could encourage, motivate and support anyone feeling discouraged, fearful or full of self doubt – from young adults just starting out to older readers recognizing their need for a change. Reading Move Forward or Move Aside is a great place to start on a journey of self discovery and developing confidence in yourself.

Move Forward or Move Aside: How to Play the Game of Life to Win by Ron Malhotra is a well written, entertaining self-help book. This 183-page book is about how to establish a lifestyle to achieve health, wealth, and happiness. Throughout the book are specified traits of what successful people have in common such as self-esteem, confidence, persistence, resourcefulness, being a lifelong learner open to trying new things, to name a few. The thought is to follow what successful people do. The author lists five levels to focus on (Purpose, Belief, Wellness, Ambition, Action), followed by three to eight strategies under each level that will help the reader to map out a road to success. Under each strategy, steps are explained as to how to achieve the strategy. Emphasis is on “finding your “why.” The book starts with several profound quotes related to change and ends with several quotes followed by several pages to take notes. The reader has the ability to download a workbook and get a free gift.

I would characterize this as a self-help book. The text is strong in the first half of the book which captures and holds the reader’s attention. The first half appears to be written with a USA target audience in mind where current US famous people are referenced. The latter half of the book appears to be geared toward an Australian audience. Nothing discussed can be achieved immediately but is a long term effort. Interesting websites and references are provided to direct the reader towards a deeper exploration of the topics. The author outlines the teachings of inspirational leaders dating back to Socrates and 19th/20th century artists and writers. The author’s philosophy is that once you find your “why,” you have direction in life and all other decisions become easier. The reader will be filled with anticipation and may find it difficult to put the book down before finishing the entire text. The author's style of writing held my attention as I read the entire book in one setting.

“What I have discovered is this: life is like a ladder. If you are not moving up, by default you are always moving down. Life is also like a treadmill. If you are not moving forward, by default, you are always moving back.” Move Forward or Move Aside: How to Play the Game of Life to Win by Ron Malhotra shows that having great clarity on what you want will pave the way to your ideal life. This is an excellent guide to show you how with the valuable tools that are provided.

Malhotra states that he delved into some fields that I personally find exude complexity, even through their names, such as Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and the one that I find fascinating but always doubt its eligibility such as the Law of Attraction. Malhotra shares what he understood and applied after immersing himself in all types of personal development forms (seminars, books, etc.) and studied successful people (artists, athletes, leaders) to connect the dots, patterns and trends that contributed to their accomplishments. It’s easy to relate to his own experiences that he shares, including the ones of the successful icons we know today. Surprisingly, I pondered deep about Level One: Purpose. Clarity didn’t come easily for me, so I’m thankful for the steps that Malhotra gives to tackle this matter.

Move Forward or Move Aside is a great book for everyone. Malhotra converts a voluminous mass of information on personal development and turns it into a light and practical read, making it easy to follow and carry out. The endeavor to better oneself is never ending, so I’ll definitely read this book again.
