Mr. Right Next Door by Aneta Cruz is book 2 in the Mr. Right Trilogy. Kara has managed to snag part-ownership of a castle and, for someone who is truly into fairy tales, this is nothing short of heaven, turning her into a real-life Cinderella – no evil stepmother or talking animals in sight here, though! Sean comes into her life and shatters her dreams of Prince Charming, sweeping her off her feet when it turns out he doesn’t feel the same way as she does. Instead, he moves into the bedroom next door to hers and, as all “good” things come in threes, Kara is just waiting for the hammer blow. The bank is about to take the castle away from her when Ethan shows up. Sean is gradually warming up to Kara, and Ethan has intrigued and enchanted her, but this is the last thing she needs when the bank is closing the net. How can she choose Mr. Right? Is it Sean or is it Ethan? In all the fairy tales, a ball is the solution to every problem and so that’s what Kara does. To find out who has the best intentions, Kara plans a masquerade ball. Either it will be a complete disaster or Kara will finally get the fairy tale ending she so desperately wants.
Mr. Right Next Door (The Mr. Right Trilogy Book 2) by Aneta Cruz is an uplifting story. It doesn’t matter if you didn’t read the first book, because there is enough reference in this one to give you a good idea of what is going on and who everyone is. I did read the first book and it gave me a good head start and a good understanding of where the story was going and, perhaps more importantly, what had already happened in Kara’s life. Again, we have plenty of action and a lot of romance going on, and not a little humor as the main protagonist tries so hard to sort out her feelings and her love life while trying to hang on to her castle and her sanity. I thought that this was a better book than the first one, with a lot more depth to it, and I really did enjoy it. Anyone who loves a bit of chick lit, a light romantic read, will love this book and I have high hopes for number 3 in the trilogy.
