Victoria Benoit's No Weeping Widow Here is a heartwarming, awe-inspiring story about loss and a beautiful love journey. Victoria shares stories and thoughtful words about losing her husband, their 10 years together, and life after his demise. Four years after meeting at a personal development course in 2003, Victoria and Bernie found themselves enjoying each other's company and fun travels to different locations. Though their marriage brought them to face each other's flaws, they shared wonderful memories by finding ways to communicate better and accommodate each other's differences. The final eight months of Bernie's life were anything but easy as he battled sarcoma—a very deadly and aggressive cancer. Thankfully, friends and family were able to have a proper farewell and share heartfelt messages before his passing. Victoria's tale encourages appreciating life and all the special people around us while they're still here.
In No Weeping Widow Here, a touching experience is told beautifully in a tone that's both friendly and lyrical. And since the story is written linearly, the reader can easily enjoy a smooth read and a comfortable expectation of what comes next. The book's themes are deeply engrossing, including health care, traveling, family, dating, Christianity, love, writing, loss, compassion, and more. Victoria Benoit's resilience and strength shine through as she narrates the challenging battles of dealing with a husband's deteriorating health and a mother's fading memories while struggling with financial issues. Her story serves as a fountain of inspiration and strength that readers in similar, difficult circumstances can tap into. I strongly recommend it to widows and individuals who have lost someone close to them or battled a serious health challenge. This brilliantly written book made me smile, cry, and cherish a life of love and appreciation.
