Ruby is an adventurous soon-to-be five-year-old girl who loves birthday cake. In fact, she loves birthday cake so much that on the night before her birthday party, she snuck ever so quietly down the stairs of her grandmother's house and into her kitchen, not uttering a sound except to shush her very shiny black cat. When she spotted the cake that her grandmother had made for her, Ruby gobbled it all up, and rushed back to her room and fell fast asleep. What do you think is going to happen next? What will Ruby do at her party without a birthday cake? Come read and find out what happens in Ruby ShinesBright and the Birthday Cake.

Ruby ShinesBright and the Birthday Cake by RosaBella Bloom is a delightful story in which young readers learn the consequences of eating too much of a sweet treat. Almost every child has wanted to eat a lot of a special sweet treat. As adults, we know this can end in an upset stomach, but as children, we don't often think of the end result. This book is perfect for teaching young children that it is not healthy for their little tummies to eat a lot of sweet treats at one time, and it could make them very sick. I loved the story and its meaning! The characters and plot development are creatively developed and can be used by parents, guardians, and teachers to promote healthy eating habits.
