The past crashes into her, though, when Holden tries to rekindle their broken romance, even though he is still holding on to secrets. With the help of her best friend Pam, owner of the local hugely successful spa resort, and an unknown (to Elli, anyway) helper from California and a surprising new resident, disappointment turns into possible new development and a bright future for Sand Dollar Cove. The question is whether Elli will be able to enjoy the fruits of her efforts or if the damage from the past will continue to keep her from truly living in the place she loves.
