In The Amber Conspiracy by Gil Cope, a fast paced, action packed novel much in the vein of the Da Vinci Code, Jake Monroe is a treasure hunter acquiring priceless works of art for museums and art collectors. A bit of a maverick, Monroe is the epitome of an all-American, a handsome man whose book of his exploits around the world has landed him on numerous best-seller lists. A descendant of a presidential Monroe, his most recent quest is for the Amber Room, called the Eighth Wonder of the World, said to have been destroyed during the reign of the Nazis. But it looks like the Amber Room wasn't actually destroyed at all and Monroe soon finds he's in a fight for his life when his friend and mentor, Urie, gets murdered right before his eyes. Someone else is searching for the Amber Room, someone who will stop at nothing to keep him from discovering it.
With help from Kira, Urie's beautiful grand-daughter, Monroe will begin a quest that will take him from America, to Europe and the west coast of Africa and will have him traversing the bottom of the sea, brushing against the cloak and dagger methods of the world's most secret society. Told in an engaging style and with cinematic flare, The Amber Conspiracy by Gil Cope is perfect for readers addicted to Dan Brown and who love a good conspiracy.
I once read that the goal of a writer is a good story well told and The Amber Conspiracy by Gil Cope achieves all of that and more. Cinematic and engaging, The Amber Conspiracy draws you in right from the beginning all the way to its shocking conclusion. It's a novel I definitely expect to see on the silver screen.
