In The Beautiful Touch by Phillip Johnson, Trevor Grey attends Ribault Academy, where his mother is the dean. The school was started by a French immigrant who was shunned by his peers due to his beliefs in subjects such as astrology, alchemy, and mysticism. Trevor's life becomes complicated when his parents get divorced, which makes him dislike his father. One day, as Trevor looks for his missing dog, he meets Mr. Estienne, who lives an isolated life under mysterious circumstances. Trevor maintains his communication with Mr. Estienne, but things become strange when Trevor meets Mr. Estienne while trying to understand a strange device called the Auspice. In this encounter, Estienne is younger than in his previous encounters with Trevor. How will things turn out as Trevor unravels these mysteries?

The Beautiful Touch by Phillip Johnson is wonderfully written and takes the reader on a gripping journey with unexpected directions and moral dilemmas. I loved the suspense, which made me look forward to the events of the subsequent chapters as they unfolded. Readers will also appreciate the thought-provoking themes, such as time travel and the concept of different dimensions, which will resonate with many. The writing is crisp and filled with well-crafted dialogue that brings the story and the characters to life. The reader will also appreciate the excellent narration and the seamless plot flow, which leaves no room for confusion for the audience. This was a good story, and I look forward to reading something else by Phillip Johnson.
