A Husband Out Of This World: A Failed Experiment by Deovandski Skibinski JR is a story set in a bizarre world where spells, magic, and everything supernatural is the order of the day. One day the strangest thing happened (strange even for this world); the chief scientist of this mystical world, Gabiro, transported a man from what one presumes to be earth into his world. Gabiro aimed to use the Buhraies spell to bring a husband to life for King Itagiba’s daughter, the second princess of Sanbi, Princess Maiara. The husband was to be according to Maiara’s liking, but, after completing the experiment, the proposed husband named Harry did not appear to be according to anyone’s liking, least of all Maiara. The story proceeds with the humorous and gory details of Harry’s meeting with the royal family, who appear to be everything but royal.
A Husband Out Of This World: A Failed Experiment by Deovandski Skibinski JR is a comical, unconventional and entertaining novel unlike any other I’ve read. I enjoyed the candid and unrestrained dialogue between the characters and found myself chuckling a few times, especially at Harry’s thoughts. The characters are all delightful, and I love King Itagiba’s daughters, who completely obliterate any conventional expectations of women. I enjoyed how the princesses’ characters contrast their mother’s sophisticated persona that she tried to maintain at all costs, despite her daughters and husband constantly embarrassing her. The scene with the royals having supper with Harry is hilarious. A Husband Out Of This World by Deovandski Skibinski JR is an unexpected delight that I enjoyed reading.
