A Winter's Romance by BHC Press is a romance genre short story anthology collection featuring nineteen diverse stories by a variety of authors. I thought the book had a nice selection and variety of stories, and the majority of them were entertaining and enjoyable. The book includes stories from both female and male authors, giving a romance perspective from both sides, which gives a nice balance to the anthology.
I especially liked "Hearts on Ice" by Alice Lakewood, "The Ice Queen" by D.M. Kilgore, "A Frosted Blush" by Ladonna Cole, and "The Death of Me" by Sara Daniell. There are many more stories in the collection, but those were just a few that stood out to me. I think fans of romance genre stories in general will find a lot of new favorite romance authors here. The best thing about anthologies is getting introduced to new writers and getting a feel for their style and themes before checking out their other works. I have found several of my favorite authors this way.
A Winter's Romance features a theme of romance and winter (as the title suggests) and creates an icy atmosphere of frosty seduction and love. There are a host of new heroines, lost loves, new encounters, steamy scenes, deadly betrayals, undeniable attractions, and happily ever afters. I thought the cover complemented the book well and the tagline "What keeps you warm, when it's cold outside..." gives readers a preview of what's to come. I would recommend to all fans of romance and drama genres.
