A young woman returns home and inadvertently captures the attention of an arsonist in the exciting mystery novel, Burning Vengeance by Tricia T. LaRochelle. After her mother, Rose, becomes seriously ill, Natalie quits her professional job, moves back home, and sets up a housecleaning service. Natalie must contend with her newest client, Aaron, a sexy former fireman with a painful past. Something about the reclusive and brooding Aaron intrigues Natalie, or alarms her. When fires start breaking out in the area, suspicions begin to arise. At first, the fires seem unrelated. Then, people closest to Natalie are threatened, and a pattern emerges. Natalie has her own suspicions, but isn’t ready to face them. Can they find the arsonist before it is too late? Will the truth behind Aaron’s shadows be too much for Natalie?
A thrilling novel, Burning Vengeance by Tricia T. LaRochelle, is filled with many unexpected twists and turns. Multiple threads weave throughout the story, adding to the suspense and drama of the plot. The author pulled the many threads together superbly, bringing the story to a climactic and satisfying conclusion. This novel includes well-defined characters and excellent pacing. The antagonist is a complete surprise, and was not the one I would have suspected. The conflict was perfectly carried out, causing misdirection and confusion that added a dark twist to an already suspenseful story. The romantic aspect is intricately threaded between the darkness and intrigue. This story is an excellent romance, complete with open-door intimate scenes and beautifully written relationships.
