Thirty-four year old Silka Fontein returns to her hometown after 15 years and reunites with her childhood friend, Taber Blake. Instant attraction immediately rises but both of them have secrets that are literally catching up to them. Determined to put an end to the imminent dangers, Silka and Taber team up and set out on a thrilling adventure.

I loved the sophisticated-looking cover art and the subtle title; I really didn't know what to expect of this novel when I began my reading. Both main characters, Silka Fointein and Taber Blake, are well-conceived protagonists, memorable and dynamic with sharp dialogues. As a fellow female, I admired Silka’s intelligence as well as her sense of vulnerability. Besides adventure, the story had the right amount of touch of thriller and romance as well. The action scenes are exceptionally well-portrayed and exciting; it is obvious that this particular element of the story was well-researched. From start to finish, it was a fun, fast-moving ride. On the other hand, the writing style is quite simple and does give out glimpses of the author’s raw attempt of a first book here and there. Even so, the great story line and the detailed descriptions of the surroundings, buildings and characters more than make up for this small flaw. Author Natasha Johnstone is certainly on the right track with “Capital D” to build her own bright future in the writing industry. Thrill seeking readers definitely should give this novel a go.
