If you enjoy cats, Fantastic Fun Facts About Cats by Russ Franken will help you appreciate cats even more. Russ Franken explains how cats are like tigers and cheetahs. He tells what Mary Todd Lincoln said about her husband, the 16th President of the United States, and cats. He mentions a French cat that was the only cat to ever travel into outer space. He describes how cats walk to leave the minimum number of footprints. He explains what it means when a cat sleeps on dirty laundry. He compares cat noses to fingerprints. And he compares the speed of a cat to the world’s fastest human runners. Learn lots of unusual facts about cats from a man who clearly loves cats, and lives with them.
Russ Franken is recovering from a stroke. Writing this book was part of his healing process. His style is brief and to the point. Fantastic Fun Facts About Cats will appeal to trivia lovers as well as cat lovers. Much of the book is about cats living with humans - what they eat, what they do and don’t like. I learned that a birth group of kittens is called a kindle and a group of adult cats is called a clowder. Cats clearly make Russ Franken happy and through this book he shares his happiness. Even though this is a picture book, I recommend it for anyone, not just children, who lives with cats, or plays with them. I learned a lot about cats from reading this book.
