Feral Frank Saves Christmas is an illustrated children's Christmas story by Deano Jones. Ever since Dad built him a refuge that he named Goatel, Frank, the former feral goat, has been content with his life at the CrownFox Habitat outside Austin, Texas. But now it's Christmas time, and Frank can't figure out why everyone seems so happy and full of smiles. The air itself felt different to Frank. He could smell delicious aromas wafting to his nose. On Christmas Eve, however, Frank suddenly noticed a sleigh falling from the sky into the pasture. Santa was upset because his lead reindeer, Rudolph, was sick, and he needed to deliver presents all over Texas. After accidentally eating the magical Siberian pine cones from the North Pole, Frank finally decided to step up and help Santa.
Feral Frank Saves Christmas is yet another heartwarming tale from the Feral Frank Story series by Deano Jones. Based on the real-life adventures of a goat named Frank, this book will delight both young and older readers. This is the second book I've read in this series so far, and I can't make up my mind about which one I enjoyed more. Frank doesn't speak, but he has a strong personality. Jones has done a brilliant job of creating a lively protagonist who makes an impact even without dialogue. The secondary characters, which include Frank's guardians, Santa, and his reindeer, also leave their mark on the reader. To me, the illustrations by the author make the narrative more captivating. The artwork really makes you connect with the animal characters on an emotional level. Overall, it's a delightful book for children.
