Frizzle's Holiday Treasures by Rhonda Goodall illustrates that the true value of the holidays is in the sharing. The story is about Frizzle, who is excited because it is December, his favorite season. One night, he goes for a walk to see the houses decorated with lights, but soon notices one that has no decorations. As he approaches, he hears a conversation between Bobby and his mother. She explains to him that this year will be a little different because Bobby's dad has been hurt and can't work. She doesn't know if they will be able to decorate, but she will do everything she can to make sure they have a happy holiday. Bobby understands perfectly and hugs his mom. To help, Frizzle creates a plan and, with the help of some children, prepares decorations and gift ideas to keep the holiday spirit going in a fun way.

I love it when the author also creates the illustrations, and Rhonda Goodall shares cheerful, colorful, and expressive images. The narrative is entertaining and easy to follow, with short and clear sentences. It promotes values such as family unity, altruism, and friendship. One of my favorite parts was Bobby's reaction, showing acceptance in understanding that not everything will always turn out the way you expect. I found it encouraging to know that there was a solution. At the end of the book, there are no-cost gift ideas, such as writing a thank-you letter or helping others. In addition, there is a space for readers to contribute their own ideas, which will stimulate their creativity. Frizzle's Holiday Treasures reminds us that the most valuable thing about the holidays is not the material gifts, but the sharing and being together, even in difficult times.
