"From One Place to Another" by Carol White takes the reader into the home and lives of Dina and Mark Marshall. This successful business couple live in an exclusive country club development, where success and appearance are critically important. When their marriage suddenly ends and Mark leaves, life for Dina becomes more and more difficult leaving her no choice but to use her cooking skills to create additional income. The relational ups and downs with her family and friends make for somewhat entertaining reading. Dina suffers rejection and disappointments, as she labors to make her business more sensational than any other. When she finds assistance in the form of Dex, she feels her life has improved, as he comes alongside as a business partner. Her efforts are eventually rewarded, with a successful business as well as a renewed appreciation of life.

The book provides lots of culinary tips and relationship ups and downs. The book provides a light read in the culinary genre, creating a distinct appreciation for the day-to-day challenges that beset the working life of a chef. Ms. White goes into lengthy detail, as she develops the growth of Dina's business. I found the book a bit long, considering the content and depth of the story, and there is some profanity. But on the whole "From One Place to Another" is a good read.
