Young athletes constantly face physical, mental, and psychological challenges. Balancing training sessions, homework, friends, and games isn't easy. In these scenarios, faith can help foster mental toughness and sharpen the focus essential to reaching athletic greatness. Sarah Grace Thomson is a former collegiate athlete and youth mentor. With One-Minute Daily Devotions for Young Female Athletes, Thomson offers 60 faith-based devotionals to help young girls attain the spiritual and mental fortitude required for sporting success. These devotions will guide teenagers and other young female athletes toward overcoming everyday challenges, such as performance pressure and anxiety, fear of failure, and criticism from coaches, parents, and themselves. On a weekly basis, you will progress and learn to transform into a faith-filled athlete with an unshakable identity, clear focus, confidence, and purpose to leave a lasting legacy.
For any young athlete currently in school or college, One-Minute Daily Devotions for Young Female Athletes will be immensely helpful and motivational. I know female athletes are the primary audience, but I believe even young male Christian athletes will find plenty to learn from this book. Each devotional is carefully designed to address a particular challenge and lasts one minute. They are built on a weekly theme, and the entire process lasts 60 days. These devotionals are also complemented with a verse from Scripture, a short story, a lesson and its application, and journaling space to help readers examine their own progress. I think Sarah Grace Thomson has found an ingenious way of making the book educational, practical, and engaging. Personally, I'm sure these devotionals will help guide young athletes toward finding strength and motivation through their faith. Highly recommended.
