Everything in this handbook is laid out in an easy to follow manner. I loved the way the author encourages the reader to believe in themselves and make the most of their God-given qualities. There are so many chapters that I would have found very helpful as a young girl; how to portray a confident self-image, managing stress effectively and common courtesies are just a few. I loved the beauty tips from Audrey Hepburn and the section on nutrition was so simple to implement. My favorite chapters had to be the goal-setting methods and techniques to sharpen your brain; these were amazing. This should be in every girl's possession as it will act as a launchpad to increase the belief in themselves so they can fulfill any goal they aspire to achieve. Girls With Grace is a work of non-fiction focused on the self-help genre and was penned for adults by author Gracemarie Serafina. The concept of grace may seem outdated by today’s modern standards, or perhaps harking back to a time of finishing schools and when women and girls were forced to conform and fill a certain place in the world. Now, this empowering guidebook shows modern women how to achieve grace through personal confidence and self-assuredness as well as the social graces that will help them to become emotionally well-rounded people and treat others with respect. What results is a fantastic and essential behavior guide that doesn’t seek to prescribe or control.

In a world where there are now a variety of attitudes, outcries and bad examples for young people to follow, the idea of social etiquette has become a bit of a backburner issue, but author Gracemarie Serafine does all the hard work to recontextualize the idea for a modern world. It’s true that we need more kindness in this world, and with the advent of social anxiety in the new generation, books like this couldn’t come at a more apt time. The content is superbly well organized to make cross-referencing easy to do, and the overall narrative style is friendly and approachable. The practical activities feel liberating and easy to personalize, and overall Girls With Grace is a volume that can provide an essential positive impact on any woman struggling to define herself and keep her goals on track.
