Author Biography

Andrea D. Collins lives in South Carolina, where she is working on her next book. She has a bachelor of science degree in organizational management from Voorhees College and a master’s degree in education from Lesley University. Andrea is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. This is my very first novel I just thought I would give it a try. I always like fantasy, horror, romance, paranormal, and suspense/thriller movies. So I decided to try and write a book that would appeal to an audience that would love the same things. I want the reader to feel like they are in a movie waiting to see what happens next. So that is why I try to leave cliffhangers after every chapter in my book. (51 chapters) I also didn’t want to use your everyday names, I wanted readers to be able to remember that one special hero or villain in my book.

Immortal Lovers: The Ultimate Sacrifice by Andrea D. Collins is as much about the past as it is about the present. Essence has spent her life trying to discover her past, haunted by dreams she doesn’t understand, and a new found ability to cast illusions. When a mysterious lawyer appears with a message from her late mother, a locket, and $200,000 in cash, Essence may finally get answers. Through her mother’s journal, she discovers how her parents met, that like her mother before her she’s a voodoo priestess, and along with her father’s identity, she learns he’s something darker, more mysterious. With her three closest friends, Essence makes plans to travel to the place where her parents met twenty-one years ago: New Orleans. As she learns the truth, her past threatens to crash into her present. Can she stop the darkness coming before she loses everyone she loves?

Immortal Lovers is a romance, but at its heart is family. Everything about who her parents are has been kept a secret. Essence’s driving force is to discover her origins. Part two is told from each of her parent's perspectives, from the day they met to the day Essence was born. Andrea Collins perfectly captures the different voices and tones. Essence’s story is a lot softer, filled with wonder, cute, and sweet. She has a long time infatuation with one of her closest friends, and he may feel the same way. Her mother Emoni’s perspective is more idealistic and confident. Her father Ian’s is seductive and dark. The vampires are seductive and blood thirsty beings, but they’re also charismatic and alluring. Immortal Lovers is the perfect treat for romance lovers with magic, love, fate, tragedy, and a touch of evil.

Serious Reading

This is one of the best paranormal romance thriller books you can read. Andrea used her experience and creativity skills to create suspense and passion in each paragraph. The personal attributes of the characters are well developed and will capture your attention from the first sentence to the last one.

I received this book for an honest review. Thank you Andrea!

At first, I was a little taken back about how the story was written from so many different point of views. I was worried that the author would get lost in the multiple storylines that eventually they would all just blend together. However, I was definitely underestimating Andrea. Once I got the hang of the different plots that were playing out, I was entranced and could not put the book down. It starts off as a story about a girl named Essence and as she realizes certain things about her "aunt" she finds some missing puzzle pieces concerning her mother, Emoni. **Which by the way I absolutely loved all of the character names, very original.** As Emoni's story is being "told" in her diary, Essence is learning more and more things about herself, her mother, and her unknown father. I do not want to put any spoilers... but I will say that if you are an avid reader such as myself and you are tired of the "Twilight-esque" series that seem to revolve around vampires and werewolves that are on all the shelves now.. then this is the book for you. I truly enjoyed reading this and I hope there is more to come!!

Amazing work Andrea.. please tell me there is more!!

I truly enjoyed this book. It felt like I was watching a movie in my head. The suspense and detail kept me turning the pages. I can't wait for the next book.
