Jasmine and Nora in Las Vegas: Tales of a Magical Journey is an illustrated children’s storybook by Amarilla Auguszt. Nine-year-old Jasmine and seven-year-old Nora are sisters. They live with their loving parents and grandparents in Budapest. Their parents take Jasmine and Nora on a once-in-a-lifetime adventurous trip to Las Vegas. After settling into the hotel, their parents fall asleep, and the girls sneak out and find themselves in the land of magical fairy tales. They climb into the jaws of a yawning Sphinx statue, wander into a chocolate shop run by gnomes who gift them magical chocolate, visit the musical fountain, free a mermaid from an evil spell, and more! Every adventure teaches Jasmine and Nora important lessons. So, what will they learn from the Las Vegas discoveries?

What an enchanting, admirable collection of stories. Jasmine and Nora in Las Vegas: Tales of a Magical Journey by Amarilla Auguszt impressed me with its child-friendly take on Las Vegas, a city more widely known as an adult destination. I appreciated how the book made the entertainment highly informative and educational, with lessons of friendship, love, and courage built into the girls’ adventures. It was great fun to guess the riddles, search for the Key of Time, and learn about the Pharaoh's pyramids! Last but not least, the breathtaking color photographs and illustrations of the Las Vegas landmarks made this awesome book stand out for me. I highly recommend this wonderful book for primary school and pre-teen children. Adults may also find it a useful travel guide to Las Vegas for families with children.

Jasmine and Nora in Las Vegas tells the story of two sisters who discover magic in the heart of Las Vegas. This adventure story by Amarilla Auguszt takes Jasmine and Nora, ages 9 and 7, on a trip to the West Coast of the United States with their parents. Their first stop is Las Vegas, and the family is enthralled by the city’s landmarks, many of which are replicas of famous monuments from Egypt, Venice, and France. When jet lag catches up with them, the girls can’t seem to settle down in their room. They decide to go exploring, and thus begins a magical journey on which they meet an Egyptian Pharaoh, fairies, elves, goblins, and even a talking pigeon. As they go from one location to another, they have to fulfill quests to help the magical creatures they meet, and to keep the magic alive for other kids.

Most people think of Las Vegas as a Disneyland for grown-ups, but Jasmine and Nora in Las Vegas shows that it can be a once-in-a-lifetime adventure for kids too. Readers who enjoy stories about the magical world that lies right next to the ordinary, everyday one will enjoy Amarilla Auguszt’s take on how this would play out in this fabulous city in the desert. Preteens will be fascinated by the strange and beautiful places and people the two sisters encounter, as well as the girls’ resourcefulness and bravery in fulfilling their magical quests. Parents will appreciate how they overcome their sibling rivalry to work together to keep each other safe and help the fairytale creatures.

Amarilla Auguszt’s Jasmine and Nora in Las Vegas: Tales of a Magical Journey sweeps readers into an exciting escapade with two sisters traveling far from home. When Jasmine and Nora sneak out of their fairytale castle resort at midnight, the glittering Nevada Strip transforms into a kingdom bursting with lots of hidden obstacles. Together, they face a legendary ruler inside an ancient tomb, mystical creatures, and enchanted gondoliers frozen in time. To survive these different trials and protect their family, they must work together to solve riddles, restore power to a roller coaster, and track down a missing timekey before dawn. As they face tricksters and make selfless choices, their sisterhood is pushed to its limits in this sparkling urban wonderland. Can our young travelers solve every supernatural riddle and escape this surreal realm before the morning sun traps them away from their parents forever?

You’ll be hooked on this rousing children’s adventure story from the very first chapter. The author captures the magic of the neon strip beautifully, using a breezy, welcoming pace to turn everyday tourist hubs into an amazing Las Vegas playground. The core of the narrative is the changing dynamic between the sisters, showing how their usual petty arguments instantly disappear when actual danger demands they rely on teamwork. Their midnight journey flies by with wonderful energy, relying on clever riddles and compelling dialogue to place themes like kindness and loyalty front and center. Tying the climax of the hotel emergency to a legendary blade myth gives the book a deeply moving, genuine conclusion that makes the entire adventure worthwhile. If you like inventive worlds and stories about strong family ties, Amarilla Auguszt’s Jasmine and Nora in Las Vegas: Tales of a Magical Journey is a beautiful escape.
